Join us for a private screening of CHIMERA, with James Alby and director Daniel Cantu.
CHIMERA is a short documentary highlighting Portland-based professional skateboarder, James Alby in the aftermath of their mother’s passing and their journey into ceramic art.
Part of CHIMERA was filmed in Fancy Banana, and we are thrilled to get to offer this screening! Free to attend, just RSVP!
Consider this like a movie in the park but inside a working pottery studio—bring your own blanket or low folding chair, snacks, and drinks!
A few reasons Fancy Banana may be the place for you:
Join a small community of artists, many of whom are selling their work or showing in galleries
Gain control over all aspects of your making process: We’ll teach you to fire kilns in a supported environment and also provide communal firing options
Scale up your work: We offer LOTS of space for glaze, clay, and large work-in-progress storage—in addition to the whole rack of personal shelves included in your membership
Professional equipment, the sweetest studio mates, regular opportunities for gas and raku firing, and other fun studio events and experiences!
All ranges of experience are welcome, as long as you feel comfortable navigating a studio largely independently!
